While visiting relatives in 1972 or so, I got beaten up in Little Rock by two brawny boys my age because my hair hung down to my lower back.
"Hey, did your mama want a girl?"
"Your mother sure wanted this boy."
That got them both off their porch and got me a nasty beating.
They got the physical victory, but you got the emotional victory, and anyone who gets violent over a 'Your Mom' joke like that will NEVER live it down. They probably still think about you sometimes.
No, they probably never thought in their entire life.
They also said at one point that these guys were "corrupting the youth with their long hair."
