I prefer activism over pouting. I just called my reps to ask them to vote No on cloture on the Continuing Resolution. If they know what we want them to do, they are much more likely to do it. It would take 8 dem senators to pass the CR, so they need to ask for something for those votes. Tell them to use what power they have. Make the call, send the email. Then, if you still want to, go for it pout all you want.
I actually do most of these already... I just don't really see how they get us out of the current crisis. But maybe there simply isn't a short-term solution.
I'm worried that if the government slips into full fascism then organizing is going to get a lot more difficult and dangerous.
Talk to and listen to people around you. Don't just try to change their minds without first seeing (and convincing them that you see) their point of view. As senseless as this situation seems, people do have their reasons. It's only when we understand what drives each other that we have a basis for cooperation.
Take direct action to improve your own life. Organize your workplace, your community, your neighborhood so that you mutually aid each other and fix each other's problems, instead of beggingthe politicians or bosses to do it for you. The more you self-organize, the more your life improves, and the more the system destabilizes due to its own internal contradictions.
