Could we start a thread of Canadian entertainment content you love? TV, movies, music, authors, podcasts, etc? Or international content that you love minus American stuff.

I don't want to hold the actions of the orange rapist against American artists who mostly all hate him anyway and deserve better, but let's promote our own first.
You're viewing a single thread.
A lot of the more popular ones have been listed already but here's a couple that I loved that are a bit more off the beaten path:
Tv:
- Little Bird - drama, if you want to cry your eyes out and watch a fantastic story about the consequences of the 60s scoop
- Late Bloomer - comedy by YouTuber Jasmeet Dutta
Music (indigenous):
- snotty nose Rez kids - rap/hiphop
- anachnid - electronic, I guess?
Nonindigenous:
- kimmortal - alt hiphop
- shad - alt hiphop
- mother mother - indie rock
- said the whale - indie rock
- the Jerry cans - folk (Inuktitut language and style)
Podcast:
- Stolen - true crime
Adding video games too:
- Don't starve (and any Klei game actually)
- crypt of the necrodancer
- starbound (s/o even though I think they're UK based not Canadian)
5 0 ReplyFor music, I'd add The Halluci Nation (formerly A Tribe Called Red).
For games, I'd add The Long Dark
4 0 ReplyWould you classify the jerry cans as indigenous? I know they sing in Inuktitut, but I'm pretty sure most of the members are not Inuk.
Also, you have to mention Tanya Tagaq.
2 0 ReplyOh you're very right about that, I hadn't looked into it properly.
I've only heard collabs with Tanya Tagaq, but I'll check out more of her work, thanks!
