The darker the color the worse it is for women. So it could be way worse. But the USA are in a decline in this aspect.

It really depends on the part of the US you live in.
Yeah, very much so. But that means that there aren't that many places where women feel unsafe.
Also, this is likely crime related. It's an index about feelings so not entirely, but still a big factor.
