I swear to god this whole city could be taken over Red Dawn style by paratroopers, and this lady would just tell us she's not too concerned, and sees no reason to panic. But then be sure to add something that clears her of any liability like "But it's not my job to speak on behalf of our Russian military visitors. Whatever is being discussed between Russia, and the president, and the governor, and our federal government military guests, is not something I'm really equipped to speak on without getting wires crossed. You understand."
I was reading an article the other day about city council asking Kirkpatrick why we didn't have any sort of contract with regulations for how Landry handled his homeless sweeps of the city and this part caught my attention:
During a cordial back-and-forth following a department presentation on its 2025 budget, Harris took the opportunity to press Kirkpatrick on the issue.
“Do we have any sort of written agreement?” Harris followed up.
“No,” Kirkpatrick said.
“I guess the question is, why not?” Harris said.
“I think it’s a legal issue with the attorneys as to whether or not they actually need it,” Kirkpatrick said. “We’ll let the legal beagles figure that out.”
The "legal beagle" line really irked me. So just out of curiosity, I looked up her background. This lady went to fucking law school!! Wtf?!
