  • Me and my gf main distro. Globally works out of the box and can be made very close to Windows layout so it eases the transition a lot, especially for non-tech people. I had some problems when trying to tweak some things, and learned that as it follows Ubuntu updates, it is pretty outdated software, so it can lead to issues for specific usages. But as it is Linux, you can still console your way out of it.

  • The idea clearly comes from a good intention, i like rewards in themselves but i dislike the fact that people with more money have more advantages, even slight ones. I admit that this is kind of a moralist take, and that in practice it's what makes some great projects possible via crowdfunding. I also admit that not wanting to encourage user contributions can lead to enterprise/state contribution being necessary or more tempting, which is probably worse. But i disliked that part on Reddit, and i would be a bit disappointed to have it on foss federative projects as well.

  • Lmms seems to still have activity on its github, though you're right that there were no proper release since 2020-2021. Most options i know of have been presented by others, i'll just put another reference to yabridge, as it could be useful to get some of your vst up and running.

  • Libertarian (in the american meaning, the european is the opposite) can be considered far-right, at least in the economic sense. They also frequently hold views on democracy and cultural values that are those of the far-right, and in the american politics, both are strongly intertwined.

  • My two hypothesis :

    • either they don't see most of your comments for some reason (like most comments being on lemmy.world coms and them being blocked from it), and they believed you were a fake account promoting vote
    • either they don't care for a proper reason. I see a lot of bans from .ml being referenced as "bigotry" even when it's only pointing out negative aspects of some dictatorship ML worships, so this could be a thing on Hexbear too.
  • V Rising is a very good game from the little time i played it. Caravan Sandwitch is really cool too, according to a friend of mine. The others i know nothing about, except that Atomic Hearts was really dividing about its quality and playability.

  • I use a 3090 with ZorinOS and it has some drawbacks (for some reason would not dim the screen when inactive until recently, tearing in most games, sometimes have to tweak nvidia drivers for games to work), but as far as i know, not many for 3d rendering itself (i haven't rendered big scenes though, but i've worked quite some time testing shaders, modeling or tracking and no issue for now).

Maybe nvidia bad reputation with linux applies mostly to gaming, but i'm not that sure.
