  • Dropping down the strength of cigarette is the easiest way to quit smoking, it only takes part of a pack to adjust to the lower strength, and by repeatedly doing that over time you are reducing your physical dependence on nicotine (only a part of the addiction).

I started smoking when I was 12, and stopped when I was 34.

I might still be a dickhead, but I was much more of a dickhead when I was smoking, just like your friends... and anyone who buys cigarettes for them.

    Smoking is very obviously stupid.

  • It is more that they assume the people of Australia are stupid after decades of stupidly voting for the duopoly, while pretending one side of it is left of centre, and cares about Australians.

  • If you managed to get to the end of the page without realising the site is dodgy, this should have been a strong indicator:

"On the next page, you'll create your account. We ask you to link social media profiles as an anti-spam step."

The photos at the top should have been enough though

  • Basically as expected.

So now it has to be assumed that the majority of smokers in Australia are not just dickheads, but are also criminals.

Being a dickhead is obviously far from illegal in Australia, but being a criminal...

  • Can only hope.

The duopoly have been marketing against the greens since way back when Bob Brown popped onto the scene, so much so that most Australians who don't like the greens, do not even know why they don't like the greens.

The movie 'The Giants' (2023) is well worth watching for those interested in the history of Australian politics.

  • I'm just hoping that whatever is next, it is so completely absurd that even the dodgy media have to take the piss out of them.

Free tesla's for white people who pledge allegiance to gina rinehart

Cheap coal powered fridges if you sign your children up to work in the local coal mine

2 for 1 southern cross tattoos

Complementary white hood with every trump bible

  • I was tempted to include a comment about the police not having racist moustaches etc, but I'm guessing the police look and act a lot like the customers anyway.

If black market tobacco is illegal, then the police need the power to stop it, if they have not been given that power, the question should be 'why?' If they have the power and are not using it, the question should be 'why?'

I was also tempted to suggest the police are not stopping the trade because it is where they get their winnie blues from.

At this point in time I am expecting 90% of the police are likely to vote for one nation, mcdonalds, zionism, or pedophile trump.

  • You will have a better time with an all amd system (amd cpu's are just currently better, and amd gpu's are more linux friendly)

Every game that I played on windows, I can also play on linux

Build your pc with at least 2 drives, with 1 drive ideally just for the operating system. Not the end of the world if you cannot afford that, but it does make things easier long term, the same applies to windows installs.

Ignore anyone who tells you to use mint as your distro, they are either trolling you, or trolling themselves, it's trash.

Don't expect to find the distro that suits you straight away.

Don't judge all of linux based on the choices you initially make.

Don't listen to trashtubers like linus

If you are coming from windows, the desktop environment 'kde plasma' should be your first choice (as opposed to gnome, xfce, cinnamon etc etc)

  • I worked for a business with an unusually high number of smokers last year, they were all buying black market cigarettes, apparently directly from a shop up the road.

"The shop down the road taking numbers" can be used to infiltrate the supply and distribution, if the police want to. Place an order, track the delivery vehicle back to their pick up location etc

  • The fake parties that popped up the last couple of years in Victoria (supposedly no longer a problem), were an indication of where Auspol is heading. These parasites are too easily able to manipulate self interested people.

one nation will probably be promising half price fuel, and alcohol next.

  • It's an odd (verbose/rambling) read, there is a lot hidden in the detail behind the plethora of choices

  • Don't be daft

  • makes you wonder what the next trick will be

  • Agreed, hanson is just advertising shiny poo.

  • I'm in victoria, we have an election this year.

I haven't voted for any of right wingers in decades... but the majority of Australian have, while pretending that one of them is left of centre.

NZ will be better again, if they don't completely fuck the election like last time, but the clock will be ticking there too, duopolies are not the solution.

  • I want to buckle up on a home made raft the f out of here

  • When getting into linux it was easy to remove ubuntu from the list due to them being like this.

Fedora considering ai earlier this year, and now debian talking about maybe slopping it too, is starting to creep me out even more about the future.

  • The tax is only failing due to the black market though isn't it?

So the question is why aren't the government destroying the black market?

With so many people buying black market cigarettes, it cannot be hard to make arrests, and trace sources.

Smoking laws could also be significantly tightened to include no smoking in public at all, as a start.

How do you follow a thread/post/whatever on lemmy, and why doesn't the internet appear to know?
