AOC's campaign office vandalized with red paint in NYC
  • Any substantive cut on Israel’s funding needs to be made if it is introduced. I literally don’t care what they’re defunding or who introduced the bill; the less my taxpayer dollars go to genocidal psychos, the better. End of story.

  • How Coldplay actually sounds
  • Um… what the fuck. This is literally how I was initially exposed to Coldplay.

Out of touch, suburban mom driving kids around on errands and dropping them off at their extracurriculars.

  • Senate votes to kill entire public broadcasting budget in blow to NPR and PBS
  • Pbs bye bye now. Me smarter now though. Me teacher reached me about god and told me that as long as I pray to my god I will be happy and that got tells us it’s okay because we are his chosen once and no one else matters and. We need to show them god too so we will make big holy weapons in factories when we grow up. Also I am so glad stients were deleted. Stients reached us false messages and that god was not real and stients caused people to live a part from god. I always sayed that oh wow it sounds good to be a part from god like god made the trees and the dogs but they told me it’s bad.

  • Bots everywhere or am I losing it?
  • Yes! It really is something special. Post something, and people will engage with it authentically. I love Lemmy so so much and I’m glad “normal” people are allergic to federation.

  • Missouri AG: Any AI That Doesn’t Praise Donald Trump Might Be “Consumer Fraud” (No, Really)
  • Absolutely. It is essential to use these LLMs with an abundance of caution, and to explore a broader range of sources from various viewpoints.

Caution and breadth of sources should be staples of any historical or contemporary investigation, but alas, the minds of my fellow citizens have been eroded; these practices cannot be assumed to be broadly adopted, and as such, when saying something positive about LLMs, we must provide ample disclaimers and remind the general populace of the dangers and harms these technologies expose us and our surroundings to.

  • Missouri AG: Any AI That Doesn’t Praise Donald Trump Might Be “Consumer Fraud” (No, Really)
  • No haha but I see your point.

It is important to use these tools with an abundance of caution, and those who cannot think critically should certainly stay away from them.

LLMs are unequivocally a net negative to humankind, but there are silver linings.

  • What was the last image you saved from the internet?
  • I actually don’t go out of my way looking for stuff like this. I can’t tell you where I got it from, but it was probably one of the popular shitpost subs here on Lemmy.

This is corroborated by the fact that it was another Lemmy user’s most recent image.

  • On a scale of -10 to 10, how would you rate your childhood? (10 is being spoiled, 0 is neutral, -10 is being abused/neglected)
  • Interesting that your therapist is adamant that your conditions were worse than you perceive them to be.

I’ve never had a therapist, but I had a traumatic upbringing. I’d rate my childhood -5; what would a therapist think of my past, I wonder?

  • Missouri AG: Any AI That Doesn’t Praise Donald Trump Might Be “Consumer Fraud” (No, Really)
  • Despite the problems with these LLMs, I have found them tremendously valuable when it comes to finding sources regarding historical events.

It’s much easier to find historical evidence that goes against the status quo with LLMs than it is with a conventional search engine. I suspect that this is an unintentional side effect of the technology; the fact that these LLMS are black boxes might have something to do with it.
