  • It's good that people are realizing it and basically turning off social media can slow it down and is good for myriad of other reasons.

The cats out of the bag, physiques have already inflated and are going to inflate more. Even if i turn off social media, which i really don't have. I'm still going to see the effects of it in real life in the gym, even worse for someone who goes to a gym that's filled with the same influencers or people wanting to become influencers.

The mental image has already shifted to either naturally unattainable or to something that might not be sustainable year round.Like looking down every day and seeing "big belly" and being disappointed just because the stereotypical image of abs is with empty stomach and constantly flexed rather than relaxed and usually filled with food.

Like the constant mental battle to readjust to adequatel/good/natural physique and resist the urge to blast gear is always going to be there. Now with the access to information around how to minimize damage from steroids and how those actually work with those being easily purchasable online and delivered home. The temptation is going to much stronger.

The era of natural physique being satisfiable and natural results is over.

Though don't get me wrong, lifting itself is enjoyable and figuring out how to balance/fit the dieting into daily life and make both into a lifelong habit is an interesting mystery to figure out. But the results are always going to be disappointing/underwhelming.

  • Well, considering that it's likely going to be AI doing the verification process. It might even work.

Add some fake mustaches as well and it will most definitely work. Some kids tested it out with age restriction, adding fake mustaches, to the face, not the pecker, worked in bypassing age verification.

  • Pretty much, the main reason i went back to pirating media rather than using any of the streaming services. For a brief period streaming services we're starting to seem like a good alternative.

Pirated 1080p movie is better quality than any of the streaming services "1080p" variant, due to lower bitrate. Even if downloaded ahead of time which should be the best quality possible and not dependant on internet connection. Completely unexcusable.

Not to even start with fucking region locking.

People praising audible as the best place to get audiobooks. So i gave it a shot. Literally the first book i bought was region locked. To add salt, i could buy it without any warning, but not listen. Fuck this. Removed the DRM, uploaded it out of spite and went back to sailing the high seas.

  • Fuck, and that's why i have just bunch of HDMI cables laying around at my home. Half the time i replug even the same cable, aka after cleaning the PC and it's RNG whatever it works or not. So i just grabbed a different cable or plugged it into next output on the GPU. Sometimes that helped, sometimes not and I'd grab the next cable or even the first one and it helped. I just couldn't figure out why those work based on RNG.

Genuinely, thank you. That's really good to know.

  • Quite the opposite. I don't update my apps at all and only read patch notes to determine whatever to update or not, usually not. As long as the app is working it doesn't need or deserve to be updated just to fuck up the UI again.

  • Hey now, oats are great start for the day.

I prefer quick oats, but oats none the less.

100g of Quick oats + 200g of yogurt + 30g(scoop) of protein powder. Really good start for the day. Nice dose of carbs and protein to keep growth up and keep me full for longer. Been eating it for years, just wish i would have discovered it sooner.

  • That can make it slightly easier to paint the mini. Like using gunmetal silver while priming Necrons, add some nunl oil on it and many would consider the mini done already or at least battlefield ready.

I haven't settled on any specific factions. Started with Techmarine, then some Mechanicus units, then a 1 armiger knight, then just half assembled Grimaldus and retinue and currently assembling Noise marines, hopefully i can finish those by the end of the next week as i am on a vacation so there should be enough time to paint those.

  • Oddly I'm not even that far from Germany, i could order it from there and still it would be cheaper than locally bought ones.

  • Sry my bad, missed the community name. Wrong community for self-deprecating humor. Im sorry about that, force of habit.

Just some customizing on my PC, if that fits and painting miniatures.

As for the PC, i might get an idea and usually there aren't anything on the market that fits the idea, so i have to build it myself. Usually it just doesn't really turn out as well as i imagined, but others seem to like it and gives me reason to tinker with it more.

For the miniatures. As i already an a huge Warhammer 40k universe fan so eventually crossing over to miniature painting was kinda inevitable. The activity itself is kinda enjoyable and good practice for fine motor skills. But those are all small, kinda obvious, which makes those underwhelming in addition it takes me weeks to complete even the simplest mini and for some reason it's never good enough. Like it's never finished.

While others did seem to like those and taught those were nice, i couldn't really handle it, always got really embarrassed. So i packed and hid those away on the top of the closet, where only i can reach.

Though i haven't given up on that hobby. One is still inside my PC as it thematically fits there and it's somewhat hidden and currently assembling new ones that would thematically fit on top of a sound amplifier.

  • It's not about quality or taste really, it's just a cheapest caffeine delivery method.Instant coffee is much more expensive, nearl 50€/kg, 3in1 is around 20€/kg, beans are around 15-30+€/kg while the one i drink is around 3€/kg. So the price makes everything up for it.

The only reason i don't use pills is that i can delay a little and slowly boot up in the morning while drinking the biggest cup i have.

  • 4 scoops of the cheapest ground coffee to a 1l French press.

Then boiling water added and waiting for a bit before i can force the plunger down.

Then poured into the biggest cup i have found at home and some sugar replacement added in.

Now all the coffee lovers, you're free to pour out your hatred towards me.

  • That's employers problem, it's an issue with their devices.

  • Yeah, but it's never good enough and then gets tucked away in shame.

  • That's a good approach too. I'll try that one out as well.

  • Nice one, that got a chuckle out of me.

I just really like the "Beatings shall continue until morale improves" approach for pushing myself, rather effective

  • From a personal perspective. Those have such a low investment requirement for the basic gaming loop.

Over the course of the day there will be small unavoidable breaks, 5-15 minutes long during which there isn't much to do. Cant really boot up a PC for more serious gaming session with such a small time even if I'm near a PC at that time, usually not.

But there's always a smartphone within reach. So this sort of random town building games are perfect to kill few minutes, pretty much same as killing some time doomscrolling or watching some YT videos.

  • Nah, the last one describes all three.
