  • Looking back at human history and developing a bigger stick than your "neighbor" has, is a rather safe bet even if just to deter said "neighbor" from using their big stick.

For the autonomous drone point. See Ukraine vs russian conflict. Ukraine is heavily using drones to hold back russia, so yeah those are rather useful.

And as someone living next to russia, i cant wait when we get our hands on autonomous drones as a force multiplier.

  • That's way too many people to deal with on a constant basis. Ill go and live in a shack in the middle of deep forest.

  • Me_irl

  • Slightly more realistic reaction.

  • Thank you for explaining.

I guess i have to add few more "reallys" in front of "I'm really really bad at body language" and probably have missed or at least consciously haven't noticed anything like that so aren't able to recall it.

  • What? I wasn't even aware that's a possibility. Can you elaborate on that, like how it works or what constitutes as a non verbal compliment?

  • "drop dead" R1 violation. Yeah they have really gone overboard with regulating.

  • Not sure it has ever happened, not that I don't receive compliments. For some unknown reason those just doesn't work, basically do nothing. Just completely meaningless empty words.

  • Yeah, got perma banned and couldn't circumvent the detection algorithms that kept shadowbanning new users or at least the effort required to keep testing wasn't worth it anymore.

  • From ADHD perspective.Depends on a movie, if it's interesting enough for me then the focus will not wander away. If it's not interesting then I have no control and the focus will wander away and either daydreaming kicks in or i doze off, which is more regular occurrence. Dozing off isn't in any way related to how tired or how much sleep I've gotten, in contrary to the belief of many people. The brain just uncontrollably shuts off because it's under stimulated.

So basically focusing on a movie or any other subject is not under my control for no longer than a few minutes. It's up to the subject matter to be interesting enough to keep my attention.

  • Recently?

You merely adopted self deprecating humor.I was born in it, moulded by it.I've been laughing over my mental health since childhood. It's just one big pun of a joke.

  • Ah nuts

  • No worries, i can trust my ADHD side to forget about it anyway.

Poor person on the other end, but not much i can do to help it.

  • Considering how expensive it's getting, kinda relatable and one of the biggest reasons why i almost quite drinking all together. Have to find cheaper addictions to replace it.

  • Yeah fair, that would be kinda bad representation.

  • Well that explains why representation matters. Even if just one kid finds it comforting and helpful. It has served its purpose.Never understood what's the point supposed to be. Not that i mind when there are minority characters in any show. Just never understood why or why some people make a big deal out of it, whatever against or for it.

  • Self care is working on physical health and exercising and sleep and mental health and hygiene and eating. Making those you're goals and a hobby as well and the whole list could be condensed into just few points. Work, family and self care.

Work can be done on autopilot. Family time is supposed to be enjoyable. Self care is kinda non-negotiable.

Though it is missing basic home chores and social connections outside immediate family. Though the socializing part can be sacrificed.

So it's work, self care, family and basic chores.

  • Well yeah, but isn't that just normal? Not related to a burnout.

  • I don't hate Linux, just absolutely every time i try to cross over to linux i need to do way too much troubleshooting, get stuck somewhere and while i love to tinker with physical hardware. I absolutely hate dealing with software issues.

By the end of the day after work and kids and just people, i don't have the energy or willpower left to start dealing with console/troubleshooting or trying to search how to get something to run. On that part windows is easier. The graphical interface of just click next and done, is easier on windows. Just start up steam and click play and it works. So my main activity of gaming is easier on windows. Though yeah Linux has made huge leaps in that department and probably when w10 ltsc stops completely I'm kinda forced to move over to linux as the first news about w12 haven't been that good either.

If i remember correctly there is some variation of Linux on a secondary hard drive in my PC, i just couldn't get dual boot to work easily enough.

Though i do hate W11, fuck that shit. Besides changing UI and more bloatware. It has one of the biggest insults in it, ads.

  • Main user got eventually banned for liking a comment, i was on a last warning and subsequent alts got caught by machine algorithms detecting uncharacteristic behavior for a new user or some links to the original banned user, like device ID or browser ID. All alts got shadowbanned after first few comments.

After few weeks of trying different approaches i gave up and decided it's more effort to try to bypass the detection algorithms than it's worth to browse reddit.

  • Sadly there aren't enough users on lemmy for specific instances. You have to reconcile with using this instance as it seems to be one of the more active ones regarding mental health.
