  • I mean to be fair, the finals has never actually supported Linux. Its a thing the team seems to try and maintain but you can't get any official support and Embark has never really mentioned it in an official capacity.

So, at least in this case, them doing their "upmost" ability to keep it working is what they have been doing all along so it's okay.

  • I will say though, if you're the kind of guy who likes MMOs and RPGs (like me) you'll love dune.

I used to play a ton of RuneScape back in the day, and recently I've been playing Eve and Star Citizen but dune is just a better game in every possible way than those three. I've been so obsessed that I had to uninstall it this week so I could get to sleep on time for work haha

  • I voted libertarian in the last election. Not because I thought they had any chance of winning, but because neither party had a candidate I would like to endorse and instead of not voting I gave it to the libertarians to help them stay over the threshold for the next election.

The two party system is going to be the death of America.

  • Hosting a website over a VPN is not a great idea anyways. You should use something like Cloudflares proxied domains or tunnels. Your users will get far better performance and you'll see significantly less load on your network.

  • I don't really use any of the AI stuff, as I just want it to post on a schedule for me. It's mostly just an optional thing to help you write the posts themselves, but it's super easy to ignore.

But, to be honest with you, I've had terrible luck with it and we are about to move back to Hootsuite. It was incredible difficult to set up, we have constant bugs with it, and the devs are super hostile and unwilling to help in the discord. It seems like they really want you to pay for their hosted version which would probably be fine, but for basically the same price Hootsuite was a more mature and fully featured platform. Plus, they actually have support.

  • I'm not going to spoil anything but them making the 2018 god of war a god of war game absolutely does have story reasons. And I didn't even play the earlier games till after so it's not so much "tied" to the story of the earlier games, but it uses them as a back drop.

That's where I'll end it, but both of the new God of War games are some of my favorite games of all time. Continue playing them, they just continually get better.

  • So to answer your questions

    1. Depends on how they have their business registered. I once worked at a company that had 7 people total working there, but because it was legally a corporation it had a "board", which was just the 3 guys who owned the company.
    2. Not necessarily, going back to my previous answer, but there is no legal requirement to sell your stocks when you hire someone. And if you decide to sell stocks you can do a private sale of any amount of the company that you want.

Just because a company is a registered corporation doesn't mean their stocks are sold publicly. But because they are a registered corporation, they have to have a board.

  • shrooms

    Jump
  • I can't do shrooms either. I've tried a number of times from various sources and all I get is 10 hours of nausea and an overpowering urge to sleep but I can't because I'm on shrooms.

The psilocybin pills worked for me, although I was microdosing them as part of a research study so maybe that was the difference. But Ive never had any issues with other psychedelis either.

  • China's high speed rail loses enormous amounts of money. Even when you consider the secondary and tertiary economic effects. Even the Chinese government has more or less given up on it.

  • just use something

This! I am an IT admin and inam constantly begging my coworkers to use a password manager, any password manager. My company will pay for you to use Bitwarden but if you don't want to do that at least use the password manager built into chrome/edge. Please, I am begging you to use secure passwords and save them in a password manager.

(Obviously not you fellow Lemmy users I'm sure y'all have too notch security practices. Just venting lol)

  • Yeah I guess I would consider a "park" to be "any public outdoor place". For some steps leading down to the water and a bench it would be a small park, or possibly a "public access site" but that's still a type of park.

And yes, I do live in one of those "ice holes" haha. But to be honest, when I went to look it up I thought the numbers would be closer because you're at a similar latitude but I forgot just how mild of a climate Europe really has.

  • You just gotta remember the mnemonic for them!

Many Wild Owls In Winter Never Make Unusual Noises, Always Calm and Focused

But that's just taught to us in class as little kids so I forget it's not second nature for the rest of the world!

  • My two biggest issues have been HDR and simulation hardware.

It's been a good few years since I've tried it but every time I've tried HDR my saturation just gets cranked to 11 and it looks like those nature photos that are edited to hell and back. Not sure why, and I've heard other people got it working so idk. I think it's just the Nvidia drivers doing their thing and not working.

But controllers for flight and racing Sims are the biggest headache to get working. And then when you do get them working you'll have issues with games running well and detecting them (I think this is actually due to proton/lutris), issues with force feedback, issues with the various buttons and sliders that aren't the primary axis. And then, after you spend hours getting them to work, it'll just break again the next time you want to play. My sims and FPS games are the only reasons I still have a windows install.

  • Okay so you just listed off public parks I think? Which, believe it or not, we do have in the states. In plentiful amounts too.

Also, the coldest temp ever recorded in Stockholm was -28c, and this winter we had over 40 days colder than that haha
