  • And thats why you're a fool.

    You're not fighting FOR them.

You're fighting against Microsofts bullshit attempts to exert control over things they have no right to control.

But you're too smugly full of yourself to even notice that. And in a year or or three, when microsofts attempts at control get worse and eventually does come to affect you.. You'll cry, and whine, about the injustice of it all, and yell at the universe over how could anyone ever allow such things to happen.. and, of course, be completely oblivious to your hand in defending and enabling this.

Its such a tiresome, boring, utterly predictable trope at this point.

  • We can push back on it once it effects an innocent server, which this isn’t.

ah yes, the "Lets not fight for our rights until we have a perfect victim" method of letting awful things happen.

  • If you have humble monthly, you already own Warhammer III, as its in this months choice bundle.

  • oh noooo, what am I gonna do if I cant play the game that typically involves me being chased by heavily armed end game players, screaming racial slurs at me for no good goddamn reason other than sociopathy?

I guess I'll just have to console myself with the thousand other games that run perfectly fine because their devs arent self absorbed fuckwads.

  • Yep.

Just cause it doesnt affect you, doesnt mean it wont eventually have an effect on you.

Lots of people shrugging their shoulders and going "Why should I care about spying? I've got nothing to hide" are exactly why we are where we are right now.

  • No, with a VPN the only thing your ISP sees is you connecting to a VPN server IP.

But browser finger printing, on the other hand, can identify you to every website you visit, due to info your browser hands over to every website... Such as OS version, Resolution, installed Plugins, browser settings, geolocation info, etc..which is often unique enough to identify you out of the whole of the internet.

Ironically, locking your browser down with more security features/settings/plugins often makes you more identifiable. Cause capitalism is god damned sure they are gonna track you and monetize the hell out of your information, whether its via your name, your user name, or just your digital fingerprint.

  • might also want to check kernel version too.. gaming distros like bazzite tend to update the kernal version more aggressively than a regular desktop distro, and since his GPU is only a few months old, that could make a difference

  • Iceflake are the surviving mars/surviving aftermath devs.

You know, the ones that are currently super loved with the scummy shit they've done with regards to the Surviving Mars "Remaster"

  • this is when you sneak out, unseen, and take a week long vacation.. make them think THEY were the ones left behind.

Bonus points if you leave outfits in a pile outside for each person living there.

  • You would not believe the amount of mods the GameGear has, my dude.

and they are expensive as fuck, lol

  • np, good luck with it, if you try to pick it up.

Its a great skillset to have, even at a basic beginner level.. Once you get comfortable with a soldering iron, so many dead electronics suddenly can be repaired for cheap instead of replaced... You have no idea how many TVs I've saved just from the dump just with capacitor replacements alone.

  • I yearned for one of these TV tuners for years and never got one cause they were too expensive.

  • if the board is completely fucked, people have made reproduction boards to move the components to, too.

soldering isnt hard, it just takes common sense, a modicum of thought, and a little bit of patience and carefulness.

If you are on a extreme budget, try to find a used Weller soldering station at a pawn store/garage sale/thrift store/etc and just take some dead electronic device you have and practic desoldering and resoldering the components on it.

if you have a bit of money to spend, pick up a Hakko FX-888d station and beginners soldering project (You can get radios, various LED projects, and some lead solder etc etc, all for pretty cheap, and by the time you've done one you'll be well on your way to basic soldering skills on most non-micro components.

  • the real reason it was such a bitch for power is that it had a compact flourescent tube for the backlight.

when you remove that and replace it with a LED backlight suddenly the battery life explodes.

  • rechargable AA's before Eneloops were all absolute dogshit

  • Yeah, I know I'm not the target demographic.

That doesnt mean I dont think its an interesting piece of tech, and I would like one as a toy/curiousity.. but i'd only get one if I can get it used/second hand and dirt cheap (and probably broken, so i can drive the price lower and fix it myself)

  • If that was the reason and logic then every store would do that.

    They don't.

Everyone on earth but this one stupid ass gas station just does the 1 dollar precharge.
