  • Yep.

Several family members had these exact 433mhz emachines with the stickers. They were not power users, they were not gamers.. They were people who typed with one finger chicken pecking to check email

  • They were never obsolete because, as it says on the sticker (that no one on the internet can ever seem to be bothered to read), that you can replace it every 2 years for new, more modern system for only 99 bucks.

and quite frankly, thats a fucking steal, considering what PC prices were like back in the late 90s, and with how fast technology was advancing.

  • "This product is dangerous, unsafe, and broken, and god damnit, you're gonna use it whether you like it or not" - Dave Microsoft.

  • Yeah, a_nomy_mousse.

Why didnt you listen to the warnings and prevent this?! You smug bastard!

  • Except that just means they'd optimize for that specific hardware in the steam machine and still run like shit on anything else.

Power wise, they said the steam machine is equivalent to what 70% of the steam users already have and use. If developers arent already optimizing for that specific block, then one more machine out of thousands wont encourage it.

  • can someone kidnap this motherfucker and make him work normal labor job for 80 hours a week, for a year, and see how much he likes this stupid fucking pants on head idea after that

  • Black friday used to actually be good. but like everything good, corporate greed ruined it.

It became a week long event, then a month long event, then companies figured out if they slightly hurt sales in late october/november by doubling prices, they could massively increase sales for black friday, and make those sales at near normal retail pricing too thanks to JCPennying.

I still shop black friday when I can. not to buy into marketing hype, or to buy something for its normal price and think I got an amazing deal, but because I hope to find something i actually need in a discount price I can actually afford. . . Which is getting rarer and rarer with each passing year.

  • Yeah, that seems par for the course with current Paradox games the past few years..

Cities Skylines is 2 years old and still shit, too... Hell paradox is even going so far as to change the dev company working on it at the start of next year. Which is doing wonders for peoples hope for the future of the game /s

  • Its always the executives that say this shit.

    You know

the ones with tons of money, that pawn children off on teams of live in nannies, who can "work" (ie, check an email once a day) from their yachts, etc etc.

If they had to work like the ground level people, for the ground level pay, they would be screaming for unions and regulations.

  • What? VTM2 came out?

    When?

I legitimately did not know it was released.

Is that part of why its flopping?

Or is the gameplay bugged to fuck/story shit/etc?

  • Bullshit translator: "I want to sell more AI made games, so i can reduce costs by firing everyone, and being held accountable for using AI is gonna prevent me from bilking idiots to increase my fortunes by another billion or 5"

  • ah yes, every time they want to do something abhorrent, they cry "its for the children!" to immediately try and silence any critics.

  • possible they have.

Theres been numerous instances where big MAGA influencer accounts have gone radio silent when Ukraine knocked out power to Moscow, for instance.

and with the way twitter revealed where everyone registered and currently posts from last week.. Well, lets just say that suddenly made a lot more sense as to why, lol. most MAGA influencer accounts are from Belarus, Russia, India, etc. all cosplaying white conservative americans.

  • 6700 is indeed a decent GPU for anything you want to play.

but your FX processor is so old that it cant keep up, Its bottlenecking the hell out of you. I bet you arent even hitting 50% of the capability of the GPU with such an old CPU.

I dont want to tell you to go and spend hundreds of dollars to buy a new mobo/cpu/ram.. but theres no tweaking, editing, or anything, you can do to make a 13 year old CPU keep up with modern software.

Either gonna have to accept limitations and only play much older games, or invest in new CPU/MOBO/RAM.. Which is a bad time to be doing that because ram prices are like 300% higher than what they should be, and continuing to climb, thanks to AI. . . if you do upgrade, I'd suggest picking up at least the ram used, if not the whole bunch.

edit Link to bottleneck calc to show how much performance you are missing out on https://pc-builds.com/bottleneck-calculator/result/0sI18t/fx-8350/radeon-rx-6700-xt/1920x1080/

  • The weird, cultlike pseudo-romantic obsession people develop with brands is, frankly, deserving of medication for their mental derrangement.

    Nike isnt even that good!

The last time I owned a pair of Nikes, they literally fell apart and were ruined by getting caught one time in the rain.

  • i mean.. you can pause your month and skip the shit you have no interest in..

I think in 10 years of being subscribed I've only felt the need to do it like...twice? i think

  • i almost never buy games on steam itself anymore..Even on the steam sales. The sales are a poor imitation of the great values that they were 10+ years ago, and quite frankly..the quality of games coming out isnt what it was 10+ years ago, either.

I subscribe to Humble Monthly and, eventually, get almost every game I've ever wanted.

  • Same.

    Love cats.

    Keep them in doors.

Outdoor cats and feral cats are walking, prowling ecological disasters.
