Fuck facebook and it's exclusivity shit honestly. Good on Valve for trying to combat that.
This is definately going to cut into virtual desktops bottom line
- Depends on how good it is. I still people pushing others toward VD even though Meta has their own now.
3 pieces of software now to do the same thing. interesting.

I really hope it works on Linux. When I last tried ALVR I had a few issues, but I've been wanting to give it a chance once again. More options would make the whole thing a lot easier though.
- I don't see why it wouldn't. SteamVR and Steam Link work just fine on Linux, so combining them should work as well.
  But the plot thickens that the rumored Deckard standalone headset will be some wierd hybrid.
  
  According to the minimum specs it requires a Windows 10 or newer, and an Nvidia GPU. As of now SteamVR itself is in a woeful state on Linux, maybe that's why they don't list Linux support for it
  
  Since SteamVR 2 released on Linux I haven’t been able to use VR at all so your mileage may vary.
Just gave it a shot, literally miles above AirLink. Not s single stutter or laggy movement or anything. I thought my network was just shit depsite being WiFi 6 for the longest time and I hated playing VR. It's much higher res than AirLink, and it actually fucking works instead of my having to reinstall the oculus app on my desktop
