Is there an actual picture of Mohamed or painting that we can view? Without pissing off all of Islam?

Shia Islam has a strong tradition of depicting Muhammad in art, this article has plenty of examples (and explains the issue).
There are no surviving depictions of Muhammad made during his lifetime. Although there are surviving descriptions of Muhammad’s appearance, these are not detailed enough to create a perfectly accurate image of him. Because of this, no image of Muhammad can be perfectly accurate, meaning that any image that purports to represent him is, in some way or another, deceptive.
That's quite a contrast with White Jesus.
Bull-fucking-Shit! That’s Mohammed and the other prophets going Super Saiyan!
Prophets being from planet vegeta would make religions much more sensible
People taking shit too literally is about 70% of humanity's problems.
In Islam, it is believed that creating images of religious figures is the first step toward idolatry. Islam therefore generally discourages the creation of images of religious figures of any kind.
That's technically false. The prohibition is not on creating images of religious figures, but on creating images of any person.
It's something I find kind of amusing about Catholicism.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
I mean to me the whole concept of the catholic religion believing this is one of the 10 commandments. Then simultaneously praying in front of crucifixes or Virgin Mary statues etc...
I mean Jesus you could half way go with assuming trinity and considering him god... but it explicitly says "in heaven" and doesn't give any kind of "except of me".
Actually something kind of funny to me, it says "in heaven", "on earth" or "in the waters below earth". Assuming christian theology... the biggest exception that comes to my mind... is things that are in hell.
Well that was fascinating! Ty for the interesting read.
That's a very interesting read, thank you.
An actual picture, no, he preceeded Nicéphore Niépce by some years.
Most Shiites, Sufis, some Sunnis, and lots of other denominations either don't see it as Haram or see it as a frowned upon act, not entirely forbidden.
If you're talking about not pissing off Sunnis, then that's a bit harder (as usual). Depictions are controversial for the following:
So yeah, there you go...
What can't piss off Islam?
God forbid anyone treats anyone with anything approaching a bare minimum of respect by default.
Rodney dangerfield?
No
There is a fresco in the SCOTUS courtroom with a theme of "lawbringers" of history. Mohamed is featured.
Call it a policy for promoting epistemological hygiene. These useful representations are fine for everyday bs (money, food etc), but for the important stuff you really do need to look at it directly.
I just thought of a way to get AI data centres bombed ....
