French government is threatening the developers of GrapheneOS for refusing to add a backdoor

Governments all around EU, as well as the EU itself, are fighting hard against privacy, free thought and communications.

If you or your company stores user's personal information, make sure to use tech infrastructure from outside the EU!

Will no one rid us of these meddlesome lawmakers?
- Te French have a good track record for doing that. Maybe this will be the breaking point

  I think the majority of voters support this behaviour. Most people would gladly give away their privacy for the promise that the bad other (be it racial, economical, religious, ... whomever you want to scapegoat) will be hurt, too.
Funny that they are complaining about a restriction put in place by Google that they have no control over. So either Google already backdoored Pixels for them or more likely they know they can just bully FOSS devs without direct legal repercussions...
Dont use google or apple of meta but also dont use EU tech. Where am i supposed to get my tech?

  Latin America, Africa - there's not a huge amount of tech coming out of there.
  Asia - they're definitely not any better.
  Honestly, at the moment, Europe is probably the best source despite definitely still having significant problems (I'm looking at you, lawmakers who are trying to push through chat control).
