O Major-General Wolfe, hail, Brave and soldierly, you were against the enemy. Hero of the English, courage was shown. At the plains of Abraham, warriors fought, You the woe of the Frenchmen, The Ancients’ avenger. Their commander was slain and they fled. Even with their friends, they did not take victory. Glory be to you, O best of major-generals! Everlasting fame and renown be to you! May the Valkyrie take you to Woden’s hall!
