Frankly, a big mark in favor of the Rafale (and EF2000, and JAS 39) is the ability to deploy the Meteor missile, which is generally understood to be pretty much the best LRAAM on the market these days.

Which is one of the reasons why I hope Ukraine eventually gets some of those airframes.

But also, I would not be shocked to learn they’re working on a way to integrate them into the F-16s and Mirage 2000-5s they’re operating now.
