Since Donald Trump’s reelection in November, non-traditional gun groups across the city and country have seen a flood of interest.
As a none USian …solidarity with LGBTQ+/queer communities, I can’t imagine how they feel and that’s the only statement that matters at the minute.
Absolutely terrified and abandoned
I live in an area that's listed as one of the top 10 friendliest places to be trans, and I'm still absolutely fucking terrified. The election was basically the point of reckoning for me recognizing I was trans, solely due to the sheer sense of dread I felt towards the potential hatred and violence I might be facing, without explicitly recognizing why I was feeling that way until I put 2 and 2 together.
When Trump starts taking guns, they'll be the first people he goes after, though.
Be interesting to see how that plays out cause the pro gun community says that won’t happen. I have no doubt it will happen though.
There are groups whos whole MO is advocacy for exactly these types of gun owners, places like the SRA if you've ever heard of them. I won't claim they're massive, but they organize. Since trans folk suffer some of the highest rates of 'random' violence, and Trans POCs have the absolute highest rate of 'random' violence against them, they focus big on those group in addition to any group made to feel othered by 'traditional' gun culture.

Well no, the MAGA crowd wants to disarm everyone that smokes weed, is a "pedo" (i.e., just a normal trans person), or is otherwise different from them in any way, so basically the opposite of MAGA.
