Customs/immigration lines aren't usually too bad for me at most American airports. Except at Denver airport. Holy shit was that a nightmare! Actually missed by connecting flight and got stuck in that hell hole for 7 hours because of the horrible layout and abject incompetence of the staff.
Yeah, I heard that with Vieira leaving, Reiss' feels he'll get more football, so he's more content. Plus, I don't think any compelling offers have come in.
NGL, I feel like we've kind of screwed up this transfer window, and it's going to hurt us as the season goes on (unless we get some players in over the winter, which isn't that likely).
Calafiori was a great addition. Merino will probably be good too. And Raya's permanent deal was a good foregone conclusion.
But we've now lost two of our right wing back-ups for Saka (Vieira and Nelson) and not replaced them. We have Jesus who can play there, but he's injury-prone. Do we have some stunning, maybe academy grads ready to step up? I thought Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly are both central with a slight bias to the left.
Meanwhile on the left wing we have brought in Sterling on a loan - more competition for Martinelli and Trossard.
Sterling can play RW, he'll probably be main back up for Saka. Nwaneri has played RW before iirc, but probably Sterling first. Has also played 9 according to transfermarkt but I have no memory of that. But RW he should be fine, I think.
Still think we're a bit light with Nelson also going but eh. Sterling is a very versatile player and I think less washed than people think, I'm quite in favour.
Apparently it will have to be a loan to us or nothing. His financial situation at Chelsea is an absolute mess. He claims they owe him 70m in bonuses or something. And that's aside from his current 300k a week salary (which he is willing to take a significant cut on). Given all this, a loan deal sounds like a wise move.
I would still prefer someone a little younger and less... how do I said it... washed-up? But he's probably still a quality player, and he'd be a decent option off the bench in the right match.
If it's a dry loan and he's willing to cut his wages down to like 250k a week, it might be worth it just for winger cover. Reiss apparently wants to stay now, but with Jesus out for now we need to give Saka some rest.
If this is about Osimhen I read somewhere that this is kinda a Oscar / Caicedo situation of "get money to get family out of poverty" situation, which I can't blame them for. Saudis pay well.
