It took a VERY long time but I finally (and fully) replaced the stairs.

The original stairs were pretty beaten up oak. Here's the stairs halfway done

Here is the stairs before sanding, priming and painting. They stayed like this for about 18 months because we got busy and couldn't decide on finishing.
